Evelyn Terry’s Platform Serves House District 71
With strong roots in this community I believe that we are all family. Family has a responsibility to one another and I am here to serve. As a proven leader and Representative you can count on me to fight for the issues that touch you daily in House District 71.
Education is the cornerstone of civilization and NC must provide funding and resources for every child to have access to a free basic education. Our shared values demand no less than this for a future with promise.
To deny any citizen in NC healthcare because we are not willing to work with each other to expand Medicaid is morally wrong and reprehensible for so many reasons. “Without vision the people perish”
ERA now, because no woman should continue to work for wages less than for the same job done by another gender: LGBTQ, Transgender, other, equal work for equal pay as well as the right to choose is a woman’s right and must be legalized.
The widening wealth gap should alarm all of us. Again public policy as related to taxes especially their burden on working class citizens as opposed to large corporations is our of balance, and these very citizens are burdened by cuts to unemployment benefits, EITC, and other benefits that prevent dependency.
It is past time to overhaul the Criminal Codes modern history demonstrates the archaic approach to social justice policy. The Prison Industrial Complex seems to thrive while children and persons with behavioral health issues as well as other types of disorders keep the mortgage paid on many privately owned facilities.
